Edge AI gate access · Vehicle entry · Dallas–Fort Worth

Edge-intelligent gate access for DFW commercial and multifamily properties.

Gate operators, vehicle entry, and edge-intelligent access control under one TX-licensed contract. Decisions are made on-site at the gate; remote management is there when you want it — a convenience, never a dependency. Powerhouse Guardians designs, installs, retrofits, and services gate access systems for properties across Dallas–Fort Worth.

Already have a gate operator or telephone-entry unit? Keep it. We retrofit existing gate infrastructure with edge AI — on-site vehicle recognition, plate capture at the lane, offline-resilient controllers, vehicle tags, and searchable entry records layered on top of what you already own. No rip-and-replace, no forced subscription.

What we install, retrofit, and integrate

Everything at the gate, planned as one system.

A reader on a post is not a gate system. Operator, safety devices, credentials, cameras, power, and connectivity have to work together — and be documented so your team can run it.

    01 / Operators & vehicle entry

    Gate operators and lanes

Slide, swing, and barrier-arm operators for resident, tenant, and vendor lanes. Loop detectors, safety photo-eyes, and exit sensing coordinated to current gate-operator entrapment-protection standards.

    02 / Credentials

    Tags, codes, remotes, and mobile

Windshield RFID tags, keypads with PIN schedules, remotes, mobile credentials, and telephone or video entry for guests and deliveries. One credential can cover the gate and the pedestrian doors behind it.

    03 / Edge intelligence

Decisions made at the gate, not in a data center

Controllers and analytics run on-site, so the gate opens, denies, and logs even when the internet drops. Remote open, schedules by resident, tenant, or vendor, and instant revocation are available through optional remote management — a convenience, not a single point of failure.

    04 / Vehicle recognition & plate capture

Know which vehicle came through — instantly

Camera positions planned for license-plate recognition at entry and exit, with plate-based entry options for resident and vendor lanes and gate events linked to video on supported platforms. Recognition runs on the camera or an on-site appliance, so alerts and entries never wait on a cloud round trip.

    05 / Service & repair

Gates we did not install, too

Stuck gates, failed readers, aging telephone-entry units, and operators that no longer stop reliably. We tell you plainly when repair beats replacement.

    06 / Power & connectivity

    Cabling, conduit, and backup

Low-voltage cabling, conduit, and network or fiber to remote gates and guard houses, with battery-backup options so the gate behaves the way you decide it should when power drops.

    Edge-first, in the field

    Intelligence lives at the gate.

On-site edge access controller, network switch, and battery backup in an outdoor enclosure beside a gate operator
On-site controller, switch, and battery backup beside the operator — credentials and rules stay local, so the gate keeps working when the connection does not.
License plate recognition camera reading a semi-truck at a warehouse barrier-arm gate, viewed from the guard house
Plate recognition at the truck lane — the read happens on the camera or an on-site appliance, and the guard house sees it instantly.

Built for the properties that live at the gate

Designed around how your traffic actually moves.

    Multifamily & HOA

Resident tags, guest codes with time windows, amenity and pool gates, and entry records the leasing office can actually use.

    Warehouses & logistics

Truck lanes, vendor and driver windows, guard-house coordination, and after-hours vendor access without leaving a gate propped.

    Self-storage

Tenant gate codes tied to account status, schedules by unit, and plate capture for claim and dispute documentation.

    Offices, parking & dealerships

Employee tags, visitor lanes, after-hours lot control, and gates that close when the business does.

Serving Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Richardson, Irving, Arlington, and surrounding cities.

    A practical project plan

Start with the lane. Finish with a gate your team can run.

    1. Assess the opening

Gate type, operator condition, loops and safety devices, power, connectivity, lane layout, and where traffic backs up today.

    2. Define the scope

Credentials, schedules, intercom or video entry, camera and plate-capture positions, integrations, and software licensing — installation and recurring costs quoted together.

    3. Install & integrate

Coordinate the agreed operators, readers, controllers, cameras, and cabling, including applicable safety and life-safety requirements.

    4. Test & hand over

Verify every credential type and schedule, train administrators, and document operation, fail modes, and support arrangements.

    Before you start

    Gate access questions, answered.

Can you add edge AI access control to my existing gate?

Usually, yes. Most gate operators accept a trigger from a modern access controller. We verify the operator, safety devices, and wiring first, then add the reader, on-site controller, and credentials — plus plate recognition where the lane supports it — on top of what you already own.

Do I have to replace my telephone-entry system?

Not always. If it works and residents like it, we can keep it and add an edge access layer beside it. If it is failing or no longer supported, we scope a replacement in the same visit.

Can the gate tie into cameras or license-plate capture?

Yes. Camera position at the lane, lighting, and vehicle speed determine plate-capture quality, so we plan them together and link gate events to video on supported platforms.

What happens if the internet or power goes down?

With an edge-first design, the controller keeps credentials and rules locally, so residents and tenants still get in when the connection drops. Battery backup and how you want the gate to fail — open or closed — are choices we set with you and document.

Do you repair gates you did not install?

Yes — operators, readers, loops, photo-eyes, and telephone-entry units. We tell you plainly when a repair makes sense and when it does not.

    What determines the project price?

The number of gates and lanes, operator condition, credential types, cabling and power runs, integrations, and software licensing. Installation and recurring costs are quoted together so there are no surprises later.
