Position Overview

Powerhouse Guardians Corp. is hiring multiple experienced, credentialed low-voltage security technicians for commercial access control, intrusion/alarm, IP video surveillance, structured cabling, and integrated security-system projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex.

Openings are available for part-time, project-assigned, and full-time W-2 technicians. Candidates should already hold the required BICSI credential, Texas DPS license, and OSHA 30 training and be able to work confidently in commercial construction, retrofit, and occupied facilities.

Required Credentials

  • Current BICSI Technician (TECH) credential
  • Active Texas DPS Alarm Installer and/or Electronic Access Control Device Installer license appropriate to the assigned scope
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach course completion card
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation to assigned job sites; a transportation allowance is provided for qualifying field assignments

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial low-voltage or electronic-security field experience
  • Commercial access control installation, service, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Intrusion/alarm system installation and service
  • IP camera and video-surveillance installation
  • CAT6 and low-voltage cabling installation, termination, labeling, and testing
  • Ability to read construction drawings, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, and device schedules
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, PoE, switches, VLAN concepts, and device addressing
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot field devices, cabling, power, communications, and system configuration issues

Core Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, configure, test, troubleshoot, and service commercial access control systems
  • Install card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, electrified locking interfaces, power supplies, and associated security infrastructure
  • Install and service intrusion/alarm equipment within the technician’s licensed scope
  • Install and configure IP cameras, NVR/VMS equipment, network-connected security devices, and related infrastructure
  • Pull, terminate, label, and test CAT6 and other low-voltage cabling
  • Diagnose hardware, cabling, network, configuration, and field-device problems
  • Perform system commissioning and functional testing
  • Read and work from plans, specifications, wiring diagrams, and project documentation
  • Document completed work, deficiencies, test results, and field conditions
  • Maintain professional workmanship and comply with project and OSHA safety requirements
  • Coordinate professionally with project managers, customers, general contractors, and other trades
